look :: old magazines

I'm lucky to live a stones throw away from one of the greater Antique stores in Brisbane - Southside Antiques Centre. It's set up museum style with like pieces together and you can wander through and just appreciate another time. They have a really great lamp shade collection! I have bought an antique collar (early 1900's if I remember correctly) that I have sewn onto a singlet, and it's now my fave thing to wear. But what I really love buying from there is old magazines.

Here for your viewing pleasure is some pages from the Women's Weekly presents How to live with a House October 27, 1965.

... because living with a house is learned people!
I wonder what happened to that couch?
My husband would love that daybed. He'd call it plaid, I'd call it tartan - it's sort of gingham looking though.

I look at this ad, and I got respect for the chairs but I really don't understand how dark green carpet could ever be considered a must-have or showpiece for a room. But check out those chairs...
She seems pretty stoked. It's probably about those sexy shoes to iron in.

I can't ever decide which is my favourite, I think the shotgun Maj-deluxe although that balloon and kick is tempting.
Bet this house still looks like this.
