(So firstly let's remember I'm behind the eight ball and I know this film has been out for a long time now.) Today I watched the Curious Case of Benjamin Button and... oh my god I can't believe it took me this long to see it. At one point I was crying and happy at once. That's a rare film induced emotion but when you get it you know you're watching gold!
I'm not going to go on about how awesome Cate Blanchett is because that's a given. Does anyone really need to go on about it? She is awesome and was glowing throughout the whole film. I will say I felt a little Oscar and Lucinda about the Curious Case of Benjamin Button but that's a good thing from my point of view.
Anyway what I am going to write about is - how awesome is Brad Pitt in costume and set? I mean there was Yacht Brad, Motorbike Brad, Romantic Walk Brad... I couldn't get enough and it didn't even feel romance novel idea of man like Legends of the Fall yet it kind of had the same effect. I say kind of because my heart was breaking through most of this movie. But even the stunning well costumed and propped Brad Pitt couldn't outshine the chemistry between Benjamin and Daisy.
And something else about sets - I'm one of those movie watchers where my eye twitches and I notice things in the background, like an awesome crocheted pillow on a bed! Did anyone else notice it and why isn't there a still on the internet with it in the background??? I still can't get over that pillow, and I still can't get over that whole movie. If you're like me and hadn't seen it - make sure you do!
