photo credit: http://www.thebooksmusic.com/ A wonderful and afar friend of mine visited recently and handed some music direction into my lap. I needed it in my stale state and one of the bands that the husband pushed on me is the Books. I cannot stop listening to them and when I was forced to pub-trans to work this morning by magic-city-council-bus and use the funny things called legs in a walk that the ministry of funny walks would not accept - my headphones blasted the Books.
Now I don't do music reviews because I'm too passive and lack describing words to make it work. My afar friend however is good, he writes books and has a rad sister. Read his blog. And then I agreed with this guy who got all wordy about the album Lost and Safe that I can't stop listening to. I don't review because I don't know enough to actually say anything more than 'I really, really like it' and the only reason I look up a bands home address is to understand the accented lyric that even knowing the accent I probably still have wrong and see if they are local to me. Which they never are. It seems if music could tell you where to live I'd be in New York.photo credit: http://www.thebooksmusic.com/
But I have to say that the Books website is pretty awesome. And their Youtube videos are also worth the perusal if you have the time. Songs that I'm really liking from Lost and Safe are - Smells Like Content, It Never Changes To Stop and An Animated Description of Mr. Maps. The latter being cereal for my ears at the moment. They have a new album and everyone should buy it.
